TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A 4)police detective died early Sunday morning after he was 5)assaulted by a violent 6)mob in Xinyi District.
Reports indicate that 38-year-old police detective Hsueh Chen-kuo (薛貞國) had suffered multiple 7)injuries from blunt force trauma after he was violently assaulted by a mob comprising 40 to 50 individuals.

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The main suspects 10)involved in the killing of a police officer in downtown Taipei turned themselves in yesterday but claimed the 11)fatal attack was an “accident.”
Tseng Wei-hao (曾威豪) and his girlfriend Liu Hsin-tung (劉芯彤) reported to the Xinyi Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department early yesterday. The two 12)were accused of 13)abetting the attack of off-duty police detective Hsueh Chen-kuo (薛貞國) by 50 14)assailants in front of a nightclub in Taipei's Xinyi District early Sunday.
