 JAMES CAMERON knows how to 5) make a splash. Literally. On March 25th the director of “The Terminator”, “Titanic” and “Avatar” 6) plunged into the Challenger Deep of the Mariana Trench, 500km (300 miles) from Guam. When he reached the bottom, 7) he sent a self-congratulatory tweet, and then tootled about for a couple of hours before taking Deepsea Challenger, his lime-green one-man 8) submarine, back up the11km to the surface.

1) Aquarius             n.       本來指的是水瓶座，這裡看似是水瓶座的時代，更合適的翻法應該是深海時代，aqua是水的字根。

2) Inner space/3) outer space  n. 這邊用inner space來對照outer space(外太空),指的是深海的世界。

4) latest                  adj.    指的是他最新的作品，省略了work. 本來是 latest work.最新作品。

5) make a splash    n.       外國常用這個片語來講拍擊水面製造水花，或跳入水中濺起水花。在此指的就是James Cameron懂得如何「玩水」，潛入深海。

6) plunge                 v.        跳入水中往下沈，常用再行如股市下跌。

7) he sent a self-congratulatory tweet          他發了一個推特短文來恭喜自己。

8) submarine          n.       潛水艇
