1)Heavy rain floods 2)low-lying New Taipei areas

The first 3)front of the 4)plum rain season arrived in Taiwan last night, causing heavy rainfall in northern Taiwan with some low-lying areas in New Taipei City seriously flooded, according to the 5) Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

根據中央氣象局，梅雨季第一波鋒面在昨夜到達，因而台灣北部強烈驟雨，造成新北市低窪處嚴重淹水

The CWB said the gradually approaching front had brought 6)sporadic rain in the afternoon and heavier rainfall along the northern coast of Keelung and the across Yangmingshan, Sanzhi, Tamsui and Bali, with 7)rainfall reaching 60-70 millimeters per hour. The CWB classifies rainfall higher than 50 millimeters per hour as “heavy rain.”

中央氣象局說，逐步接近的鋒面除了於午後帶來爾陣雨外，也造成北部基隆沿岸豪大雨勢，遍及陽明山、三芝、淡水與八里，降雨量每小時在60毫米-70毫米。中央氣象局定義「大雨」為降雨量超過每小時50毫米。
