12年國教在台鬧的沸沸揚揚，我們當然要學一下。

President Ma Ying-jeou, Premier Sean Chen, and Education Minister Chiang Wei-ling yesterday jointly kicked off the 3)implementation of the 12-year compulsory education system, making Taiwan the first country in Asia to 4)enforce the system.

 馬英九總統、行政院院長陳沖與教育部部長蔣偉寧昨天聯合揭開十二年國教序幕。讓台灣成為亞洲第一個實行此制的國家。

 　“We're ready for 5)the official run of the 12-year compulsory education program, and we cannot wait any longer,” Minister Chiang said at a press conference held to announce the enforcement of the new system.

大意：蔣部長在記者會上宣布說我們已經準備好要實行12年國教，而且不能再等了。

　 Chiang said that the success of the 12-year 6)mandatory education program can hardly be achieved in the short term, and both parents and teachers of high schools should change their concepts along with the official implementation of the new program.

蔣說12年國教的成功可能無法在短期內達成，家長與高校教師需要隨著正式的新制改變觀念。

 Chiang vowed to have the 7)ratio of 8)examination-free admission to senior high schools hit 65 percent in 2013. “If the goal fails to be achieved, I have to extend my apology,” he stressed.

蔣宣示2013年免試率要達到百分之六十五的目標，並強調假如未達到目標，將致歉。

　 On the same occasion, President Ma said that whether the system can be successfully implemented hinges greatly on how to deal with star senior high schools well. He noted the purpose of the education is not to have only one star school shinning brilliantly against the 9)majority of other schools, but to make many schools shine together.

 馬總統同時說如何處置明星高中也會影響新制的成敗。他認為教育不是只有讓一所學校成為明星高中，同時也要讓許多學校一起發光發亮。

 　 There will be 15 regions for examination-free recruitment of senior high students around the island, including Keelung-Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu-Miaoli, Taichung-Nantou, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Taitung, Hualien, Yilan, Kinmen and Penghu.

 全台灣將會有15個免試入學招生區，包括基隆台北、桃園、新竹苗栗、台中南投、彰化、雲林、嘉義、台南、高雄、屏東、台東、花蓮、宜蘭、金門與澎湖。
