TAIPEI -- Share prices in Taiwan rose 2.89 percent yesterday, 4)boosted by a capital gains tax proposed by Kuomintang (KMT) lawmakers that would limit investors' tax exposure more than an earlier proposal put forward by the 5)Cabinet.

The weighted TAIEX ranged between a high of 7,349.85 and a low of 7,178.67 before 6)closing up 206.29 points, or 2.89 percent, at 7,342.29, the biggest single-day rise by percentage since Dec. 21.

大意：加權指數於最高7349.85點與最低7178.67間震盪，收盤收在7342.29點，上漲206.29點，漲幅2.89%，創下去年12月21日以來的單日最高漲幅。

7)Turnover was NT$93.10 billion (US$3.14 billion), the highest since May 2 and well above the NT$71.9 billion averaged from May 2 to May 28.

大意：成交金額為新台幣931億[中文新聞都說-成交金額為新台幣930.98億元，這個在數字上有出入]，相當於31.4億美金，是從5月2日以來新高，超越5月2日到5月28的日均交易額719億。
